Effusion Dance Collective (EDC) began as an idea amongst dance educators to open a dance studio where students in Paterson, NJ, and the surrounding area would be able to acquire a high-quality dance education. Our goal was simple; instill our passion for dance within our students, while strengthening technique and building discipline. In February 2011, Effusion Dance Collective opened its doors in Hawthorne, NJ. After a successful year-ending showcase that included 25 dancers, EDC now has a growing roster of nearly 200 dancers. We are so proud of our students accomplishments which include: acceptance to summer programs at Dance Theater of Harlem and Debbie Allen Dance Academy, performances at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and various performance events throughout NJ. EDC's competition company of dancers have also received numerous Platinum, High Gold and Special Judges Recognition Awards at state-wide dance competitions in New Jersey. Effusion Dance Collective continues to live by our mission of providing students with a high-quality dance education within a learning environment that nurtures creativity, cultivates discipline, and fosters social and artistic growth.
