The Community Housing Council of South Australia (CHCSA) is the Peak Industry Body that represents community housing providers and other not-for-profit housing providers in South Australia. The Community Housing Council of South Australia (CHCSA) was established alongside the development of the original legislation as a “peak body” for community housing providers (CHPs) with a focus on providing advocacy and support on behalf of the emerging community housing sector. Peak bodies can be defined as: “…representative, non-government organisations whose membership predominantly consists of other organisations of allied interests and which are recognised by other peaks and their sectors generally as a representative of the whole of their sector.” CHCSA is a member driven community organisation, governed by a Member elected Board of Directors that includes staff members sourced from member agencies. Membership is open to SA based CHPs registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) across all registration tiers. Associate membership for individuals or other interested organisations is also available. CHCSA provides a range of services and advocates on behalf of its members, however we are not a housing provider and do not own any property in our own right.
