Support the competitiveness of European HPC technologies to support Europe’s competitiveness in general - that’s how one could sum up the mission of ETP4HPC, the European Technology Platform for HPC, which was established in mid-2012. We are an industry-led think-tank of European HPC technology stakeholders. All organisations involved in HPC in Europe can join us, either as full or associated member. Whether you are a technology vendor, a research centre, an ISV, a service provider or an individual end—user, you can work with us us to help shape Europe’s HPC future. ETP4HPC was born with the publication of its first Vision paper, followed several weeks later by its first official letter to European Commission Vice-President Neelie Kroes. After almost a year of preparatory discussions, ETP4HPC’s work was set out publicly in its Strategic Research Agenda (SRA): Achieving HPC Leadership in Europe. While the Vision Paper defines the ETP’s objectives and missions by outlining the issues to be considered in the overall R&D program, the SRA sets out a detailed menu for the program by drawing out the main principles for the construction and orchestration of a complete ecosystem. It is now in its fourth edition. ETP4HPC continues its mission within the EuroHPC JU: we are one of the 2 private members of the EuroHPC JU.
