Habitot Children's Museum was founded by parents and educators 23 years ago to meet the unique needs and interests of infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a safe and appropriate community setting. Habitot’s mission is to help the broad community of parents and caregivers raise curious, creative and confident children. Hands-on exhibits and programs focus exclusively on early childhood. Since opening in 1998, Habitot has welcomed over 1,500,000 visitors, filling a niche for new parents and caregivers who seek safe and enriching experiences for young children, 0-5, as well as parenting support, connection and information for themselves. Habitot offers parenting support groups and special programs for at risk youth that focus on enhancing the quality of life for young children and their families by increasing learning through play. Habitot Children’s Museum has been recognized as the “best museum for families” by Bay Area Parent Magazine readers and as a “five star destination” by the Lila Guide.
