"Children, youth and families thrive within a culturally responsive community" Miskanawah provides services to children, youth and families within the City of Calgary and surrounding areas, and in particular within Region 3 as defined by Alberta Child and Family Services. Miskanawah maintains five programs including: Regional After-Hours Youth Support (RAYS); Aboriginal Mentor Homes; Healthy Families (as part of the Calgary Healthy Families Collaborative); and Nehiyaw Kehokewin (in-home support for new Aboriginal families). In addition to our core programs, we offer cultural resources to our clients and the public at large. These resources include: - Access to Elders - Accredited Aboriginal support, resource workers, and mentors - Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training and Teaching - Talking/Sharing Circles - Traditional Ceremonies and celebrations
