Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre was established as a nonprofit organization in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2009. Their repertoire included 8 full-evening length works, a 24-hour dance marathon and several shorter pieces. While most productions were performed in Louisiana, the award-winning company also toured to Houston, San Francisco and New York City. Chard has now brought his work to his hometown of San Diego. He started in 2014 by creating "New Bee" a 50-minute solo for the San Diego International Fringe Festival. This year Chard will be choreographing another work for the San Diego Fringe entitled "Danza Fantasma". Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre provides provocative and often avant garde spectacles that entertain and challenge audiences of all ages. The artists of CGDT continually strive to create unique performance experiences and do so by collaborating with other performers, composers, filmmakers and visual artists.
