The Technical University of Crete is a small, young, dynamic university with a clear mission: to expand knowledge and benefit society through research integrated with education. In this endeavor, the pursuit of excellence is the driving force. TUC was founded in 1977 and admitted its first students in 1984. The Institution provides undergraduate and graduate studies in modern engineering fields. More than 60 laboratories with prime equipment, high technology infrastructure and eminently qualified personnel, as well as faculty and staff members with international academic background attest to the level of excellence in education and research conducted at the University. The most recent external evaluation ranks the Technical University of Crete amongst the most prominent research institutions in Greece. The Technical University of Crete comprises 5 academic engineering Schools: the School of Production Engineering and Management, the School of Mineral Resources Engineering, the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the School of Environmental Engineering and the School of Architecture.
