Spediporto
www.spediporto.itSpediporto, the Association of Freight Forwarders, Couriers and Transporters of Genoa, includes more than 200 Shipping Houses, plus courier, transport and warehouse companies, for a total of more than 400 units. With 7000 employees, including direct workers, consultants and collaborators, the category has a turnover of over 250 million euros, without considering the induced freight, surveys, insurance coverage and premiums, for a turnover that exceeds 2 billion. New services of transit and terminal assistance have developed, while the traditional activity has expanded to intermodal contracts. A research conducted by Professor Mannheimer in 2004 on the expectations of shippers and shipping agents identified how the main developmental issues perceived were essentially three: the functioning of the Customs Agency, the telematics system and delays in the implementation of the freight distripark. The telematics issue being the most important and delicate, the Association is strongly committed to the support of eport, which after the success of Voltri is being extended to the entire port of Genoa. The Genova Distripark project sees the return of Spediporto to logistics in the strictest sense of the word, with participation in the consortium that is trying to win the tender for the Voltri Distripark.
