University of Auckland Photography Society (Photosoc)

Photosoc aims to provide opportunities and support for its members to grow their passion for photography in both amateur and professional contexts. Our goal, backed by over 50 years of experience, is to grow better photographers and more of them. PhotoSoc welcomes all students with an interest in photography, whether they are absolute beginners or advanced professionals. You can also email us: President: photosoc.president@gmail.com Membership Manager: photosoc.membership@gmail.com Treasurer: photosoc.finance@gmail.com What we do… *General Meetings - Take a break, get together, and mix & mingle with other members, sponsors, and committee and find out about upcoming events. *Field Trips - Get to know other members whilst adding to your photography experience. Some of the places we’ve been to include Tongariro National Park, Cape Reinga, Hamilton Gardens, the Auckland Fire Station and Devonport. *Workshops – PhotoSoc offers workshops for all levels; from the complete beginner to the advanced photographer. In the past we have run camera basics, studio lighting, astrophotography, Photoshop tips & tricks, pinhole photography and more. *Exhibitions - A golden opportunity for members to display their work, we have exhibitions every semester and in the past been included as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography. *Equipment & Resources – PhotoSoc has access to a high quality film scanner for scanning of 120 and 135 negatives. We also have access to a Canon 5DM2 for members to hire out, as well as some flashes for any camera system. Film shooters are catered to as well, with film camera hire and film sales. Come to one of our office hours to try something out!
