The North Madison Volunteer Fire Company proudly protects over 3,000 homes and several commercial complexes as well as thousands of acres of forest over a total area of twenty-three square miles. Two Madison Public Schools are located in the North Madison District, as well as a private K-8 school and several nursery schools and day cares. The North Madison Fire District includes all of Madison that extends north of Horsepond Road, Warpas Road, Winter Hill, and East Wood Road to the Killingworth Town Line.
