National Hispanic Leadership Agenda
www.nationalhispanicleadership.orgThe National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) was established in 1991 as a nonpartisan association of major Hispanic national organizations and distinguished Hispanic leaders from all over the nation. As a coalition of 40 preeminent national Latino organizations, NHLA is dedicated to providing the Hispanic community with greater visibility and a clearer, stronger influence in our country’s affairs. NHLA brings together Hispanic leaders to establish policy priorities that address, and raise public awareness of the major issues affecting the Latino community and the nation as a whole. POLICY PRIORITIES The NHLA recently released its 2016 Public Policy Agenda, outlining policy recommendations for -Economic Security and Empowerment -Education -Immigration -Government Accountability -Civil Rights -Environment and Energy -Health Visit our website at NationalHispanicLeadership.org for more information. PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENTS The NHLA created a first-of-its kind talent bank and program to support entry-level through candidate level Latino professionals interested in serving as presidential appointees in President Barack Obama’s Administration. For resources and to join our talent bank visit LatinoAppointments.org. LATINASREPRESENT In partnership with Hispanas Organized for Political Parity and the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, NHLA is working to embolden communities to help change the fact that Latinas are currently just 1 percent of state and federal elected officials. Through forums, panels, and workshops, we’re building major momentum for broad-scale change — one vision, many communities, hundreds of voices at a time. Visit www.LatinasRepresent.org.
