He has served as a trustee and Chair of the Grants Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, an officer of the Temple University Alumni Association, President of the Temple Law Alumni Association and Vice President of the Board of Directors of Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El in Wynnewood, PA. Michael is on the Advisory Council of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Project. He is a Committeeman in Lower Merion Township. He has served as an elected officer of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He handles numerous pro bono matters on behalf of Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (PVLA) and the Support Center for Child Advocates.
