IMS offer undergraduate, masters, and doctoral education in four areas: Cinema Studies, Journalism, Media and Communication Studies and Fashion Studies. The Department of Media Studies (IMS) was founded in 2012 through a merger of the Department of Cinema Studies, the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication Studies (JMK), and the Centre for Fashion Studies. JMK, the Section for Fashion Studies and the majority of the IMS administration are located in Garnisonen while and the Section for Cinema Studies is located in Filmhuset, the Film House.
