The Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Foundation cast a large net seeking diverse talent to join us from the business community, alumni ranks, and visionaries willing to network, mentor, hire and engage our students. We wanted to reach community partners looking to engage with our Board and create programs to “follow our students.” Wednesday, January 26, 2022, brought about significant change. We look forward to our new Board of Directors. Collectively our Board will strengthen the community, build relationships, and continuously improve the value we bring to our members while enhancing our ability to foster economic prosperity and self-sufficiency. Our newly elected officers serving on the Executive Board will be role models to current and future Board members. We are a group of talented people working together and sharing a commitment to working cohesively to move the Foundation forward to fulfill its purpose, a newly defined purpose. We are not equal in experience, talent, or education but similar in our commitment to time, talent, and treasures. A team of individuals inspired to believe we can design a program that puts Students First. Inclusive of all students with our hearts and minds, openly welcoming 1st generation college students, non-binary individuals, students with disabilities, multiracial and multicultural groups, homes where English is a second language, and a C-Suite of GPAs. Together we can design a support system to improve the level of self-sufficiency as their accomplishments, stories, trauma, barriers, and challenges create nonlinear journeys and help us redefine the definition of opportunity.
