Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with companies at all stages from corporate behemoths like Amazon, Carl Zeiss, and Microsoft, through to numerous early-stage startups. Over the last few years, I have worked intermittently – and now because of the pandemic, more permanently – as a marketing consultant, helping businesses improve their marketing efforts by creating engaging content that actually works to increase sales. Since leaving University and becoming a bona fide professional marketer, I've discovered that I most enjoy the tough challenges – the ones deemed "impossible." Working as part of a larger team, I have hugely enjoyed seeing initiatives taking on a life of their own as they grow from nothing to something. My approach to marketing has been largely inspired by the works of Dave Gerhardt [CMO @ Privy], Matthew Kobach [Director of Content Marketing @ Fast], Rory Sutherland [Vice-Chairman @ Ogilvy], and Jack Butcher [Founder @ Visualize Value] amongst many other anonymous contributors. These inspiring thinkers have made me a better marketer by thinking beyond vanity metrics and the unfortunate waft that marketing can be sucked into by focusing on metrics that actually effect the business: revenue.
