Patients are encouraged to change their nutrition and activity level in order to change the course of co-morbid conditions, including Diabetes and Hypertension. Spirit While some see spirituality or spiritual beliefs as a discussion to avoid, Juanita C Perkins Healthcare includes spirituality as part of its treatment model. We realize how important spirituality is in helping those with mental/physical illness cope. Multiple studies have shown spiritual beliefs and the connection to a Higher Power have positive effects on both physical and emotional health. Spirituality also helps people’s mental health by decreasing self-centeredness and encouraging a sense of belonging to a larger community. As part of the wellness program, Unicity International products are used to help patients with metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
