The House of Hope is a non-profit organization that has been providing substance use disorder treatment, education, and behavioral health services to thousands of women and children throughout Utah since 1946. Programs are available in Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah. The House of Hope Women and Children’s Program in Salt Lake City provides Residential, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient and Day-Treatment substance use disorder treatment services for adult women, pregnant women, women with children, and mothers reunifying with their children, to treat serious substance abuse problems. Residential services are available for 43 women and 45 children daily. The Hope Center for Children is a Developmental Center/Therapeutic Day Treatment serving the children of mothers in treatment. Children ages 4 months to 8 years of age receive therapeutic services five days a week, including assessments, case management, developmental services, counseling, parent-child counseling, and other indicated services. Mothers learn positive parenting skills. House of Hope's Women and Children's program in Provo provides intensive residential substance use disorder treatment, and therapeutic day treatment for the children. Sixteen families can be served here on a daily basis. Both programs are gender-specific programs, focusing on issues unique to women in recovery, trauma, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Treatment focuses on strength-based approaches, and includes: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT),and other techniques to address substance abuse and mental health issues most effectively.
