Green Energy Biofuel is a locally owned and operated recycling company with headquarters in Winnsboro, SC. We produce Biodiesel using Used Cooking Oils (UCO) generated from the food service industry. Our mission is to increase the availability of alternative fuels and create sustainable jobs in the biofuels industry. At the same time, we protect the environment we live in from oil contamination because UCO is harmful to ecosystems and clogs drainage pipes. At Green Energy Biofuel, we believe in Reduce-Reuse-Recycle principals and apply them in any way we can. For example, our production plants, trucks and a big part of the equipment were bought from other biodiesel plants or repurposed. As a result of taking old and unused and upcycling, we have created something new, which provides new job opportunities in all three locations. We specialize in custom blends of biodiesel designed to meet the specific needs of our eco-friendly clients. Our products are created using multiple feedstocks from both virgin and recycled sources. Our fuels and additives meet or exceed ASTM standards. Moreover, Green Energy Biofuel is certified according to the Renewable Energy Directive (RED, 2009/28/EC) of the European Parlament and the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. We also comply with the certification system - International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC EU) which is approved by the European Commission. Green Energy Biofuels complies with the US Environmental Protection Agency's Renewable Fuel Standard Program as required under 40 CFR 80.1454(d)(4).
