The Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria belongs to the network of 140 German Schools Abroad (DAS), funded by the Federal Office of Administration on behalf of the Foreign Office and the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). Founded in 1899, the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria bears the seal of an excellent German school abroad. Our park-like premises with spaciously designed school buildings are the perfect setting for our learners from Crèche leading up to the National Senior Certificate (NSC) (IEB*) and, for the German university qualification, the German International “Abitur”. Highly qualified teachers guarantee our learners’ extraordinary results. At our School of Encounter, young people of different socioeconomic backgrounds and of all population groups in South Africa meet with children from Germany, Europe and other parts of the world. It is our vision that within an harmonious co-existence and without prejudice the learners of our school grow to become mature citizens with a reputation of being self-confident and critical as they make their contribution to society. Achievements: 2012: DSP receives the BLI seal as "Excellent German School Abroad." 2014: The DSP orchestra is invited to perform at the World Congress for Schools Abroad in Berlin. 2015: The DSP wins 2nd place in an Inclusion Competition of German Schools Abroad „DAS – gemeinsam lernen und leben.“ 2016: The DSP receives the 1st prize in the international competition „Schüler bauen Brücken“ in Berlin. 2018: The DSP again fulfils all conditions for the award of the seal of quality "Excellent German School Abroad” 2019: The DSP celebrates 30 Years as School of Encounter
