First Community Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative and has provided quality member service for over 85 years. FirstCCU has more than 20,000 members and $156 million in assets and is a Bauer Financial 5-Star Superior Safety rated credit union for 19 consecutive years. Established in 1933, during the midst of the Great Depression, 20 employees of Fairbanks Morse & Company in Beloit, Wisconsin chipped in $5.00 shares to start the original credit union. This money was then lent out to other employees who needed a loan. FirstCCU has four full-service branch locations in Janesville, Beloit, and Monroe, and Rockford. Membership with the credit union is open to anyone who lives or works in Rock, Green, Dane, Jefferson, Iowa, Grant, Lafayette, Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha, and Walworth counties in Wisconsin as well as Winnebago, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Boone, Ogle, Carroll, and Stephenson counties in Illinois.
