John Turner Aviation Consultancy Ltd provides independent aviation expertise. Before forming the company, Director and principle consultant John Turner managed the corporate governance covering all of a major international aerospace company's flying and airfield operations world-wide while also holding responsibility to the UK civil and military regulators for the company's UK flight test activities and airfields. He was a lead test pilot on Tornado, Hawk, Eurofighter/Typhoon, BAe146 and Nimrod MRA4, flying as Captain of MRA4's first flight, and was UAV-pilot for the first flight of Mantis. John displayed Hawk and Eurofighter at a number of international air shows, including the first fully aerobatic Eurofighter display at Farnborough in 1996 and the first display with carefree handling that launched the Typhoon name at Farnborough in 1998. He has displayed a wide variety of vintage aircraft from the 1st World War Bristol Fighter F2B to the 1940's Avro C-19 airliner at Shuttleworth Trust’s Old Warden airfield and elsewhere in UK and from 1990 worked on numerous air show Flying Control Committees before being appointed as Chairman of the Flying Control Committee for the Farnborough International Airshow in 2010 and Flying Display Director in 2014. The team has extensive experience of military and civil flying instruction, air display flying and supervision, air traffic and aerodromes management, safety management systems and aviation regulation.
