Future Leaders, an initiative of the MWCCI - a group of 18-35 year olds providing inspiration and motivation via development and networking opportunities In early 2011 the Midwest Chamber of Commerce and Industry identified a severe skills and leadership shortage over the next phase of development and expansion of business activity throughout the Midwest region. To address this issue the Chamber launched a new membership category called the “Future Leaders”, to target 18-35 year olds who are employees of business and industry in the Midwest region. The purpose of the program is to engage young people in meaningful and relevant activities that will develop personal skills and attributes and skills in communication, management and mentoring. The program will offer opportunities to learn and implement strategic plans; develop annual operational plans, co-ordinate and plan meetings. Events, including facilitating events to further their personal & professional development; and prepare budgets.
