The Cumbria Clock Company Ltd is situated in the small village of Dacre in the Lake District National Park . From these workshops the Company has undertaken several repairs and restorations to some of the most prestigious church clocks, as well as many others in towns and villages throughout the United Kingdom. The Company are responsible for the maintenance of the country’s oldest clock at Salisbury Cathedral, have undertaken the repairs and automatic winding of what is considered the most important astronomical clock at Hampton Court Palace, as well as major restorations at Durham, Hereford and Manchester Cathedrals. In 2007 it manufactured and installed a temporary drive unit to the worlds most famous clock "Big Ben" driving the dials during the restoration of the original mechanical clock movement. The drive unit is still in place, ready for use should it be needed. The Company prides itself on its ability to manufacture “in-house” all necessary components required for turret clock horology.
