Sustensis is a Think Tank providing inspirations, suggestions and solutions for the period of Humanity’s transition to the time when it will coexist with Superintelligence. It proposes to support that process by reforming democracy based on new Universal Values of Humanity, promoting a planetary, rather than a national outlook, and evolving the most mature organisation, such as the European Union, into a Human Federation. This must be achieved by the time Superintelligence matures, because it will then become our (hopefully) benevolent Master. We have just a few decades to complete that process and then to gradually evolve into a new,completely digital species - POSTHUMANS. Humanity may become extinct within the lifetime of some people already alive or it may evolve into a different species. If our civilization is to survive, we need to apply some powerful risk mitigation strategies. We have heard a lot about an existential threat of Climate Change. But this is only one of about a dozen of such existential risks. Among them, the most severe is the threat of Artificial Intelligence and especially, its mature form – Superintelligence. This is an existential threat of an entirely different magnitude, which can either make our species extinct by a direct malevolent action, or by taking over the control about the future of Humanity. This risk is also different than for example Climate Change, because it may come much earlier, within the next few decades. Secondly, we cannot stop (uninvent AI) – the proverbial genie is already out of the bottle. There is a minimum 20% chance that one of the existential risks will materialize by the end of this century, making our species extinct. However, some experts, like prof. Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal, or the late Stephen Hawking, assess such a risk as at least 50%.
