Enertechnos
www.enertechnos.comEnertechnos is a pioneering clean-tech company dedicated to enabling 'better electricity'. We aim to reduce electrical losses in the energy system through ground breaking research and innovations, including our pioneering ‘Capacitive Transfer System’ (CTS). Our low-loss cable (CTS) strengthens grid reinforcement & wireless EV charging. 26,322 GWh of power was lost in the UK’s transmission and distribution systems in 2016, enough to power nearly seven million homes, wasting £1.3 billion. Our pioneering research has shown how balancing reactance and capacitance in cabling not only reduces losses but can enable renewable sources to generate usable energy for more of the day. We have incorporated this technology into CTS – a cost-effective replacement for existing cables and deployable in new infrastructure, while providing significant system benefits through reduced losses. It is also deployable underground over a longer distance and at greater efficiency than conventional cabling. Our story Enertechnos was founded in 2014, borne from a kitchen table discussion and by January 2015, we had been granted patents in the UK, US, Eurasia and China for its technology innovations. Enertechnos has a world class advisory board of Dr Donald Weir (former CEO of E.ON Technologies), Andrew Donovan (former Head of Power Utilities at Evercore), Ian Welch (former innovation manager at National Grid), James Barry (former Barclays, Dresdner Kleinwort, HBOS and UniCredit senior investment banker) and Harry Kenyon-Slaney (former CEO of Rio Tinto Energy). Since then, Enertechnos has continued to go from success to success. In July 2017 it was awarded part of a £1 million Innovate UK grant, and it is currently in the process of planning a real-world installation with a major UK DNO.
