Boston University Financial Modeling Club (BUFMC) is designed to be a team-oriented and fun experience. Welcoming all interested in developing their financial modeling expertise, BUFMC is open to any Boston University student. Whether the student is a freshman struggling with the FE101 excel assignment or a senior looking to refine their skills before entering the corporate world, BUFMC offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity. Initially, the goal is for club members to get familiarized with basic excel skills essential in the job market. Mentoring them with relevant, real-world examples obtained either from our skilled advisors or the Bloomberg Database, we strive to give every club member a competitive advantage when they enter their classes, internships or careers. The long term goal of the club is to teach the basics of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), the programming language of Excel. As the semester progresses and members are equipped with the fundamentals of financial modeling, advisors and visitors will build on and contextualize the material learned with personal examples and anecdotes.
