Reach Learning Disability

www.reachuk.org

Reach is a charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire. We work with almost 250 people to help each one to lead a happier and healthier life in their own community, near to family and friends. Reach began as Southwell Care Project in 1999. Since then we have grown in scale and impact across the county, yet our roots remain firmly planted in the community. Many of our trustees, staff and volunteers live locally to where we provide our services and some have caring responsibilities at home, so they really understand the importance of ongoing community support. From starting out as a small group of concerned parents of people with learning disabilities, we are now a registered and regulated charity providing approximately 2,600 hours of support each week across all services. As Nottinghamshire’s population grows, we will need to offer more and more hours of client facing support every year, so we work closely with our community to generate much-needed financial and volunteer support. You can find us at one of four sites – Reach Southwell, Reach Newark, Reach Mansfield and our social enterprise Flower Pod. At each site we offer courses, activities, projects and socials, all of which help every client to learn new skills, make friends and live well. Like all charities, we are dependent on donations, contributions and volunteers to make our work have the right impact and do the very best for our clients every day. You can find out more about how to donate or get involved with our fundraising and activities at reachuk.org.
