CulturalDC supports innovative artists across all disciplines and makes their work accessible to diverse audiences. We provide unconventional space for relevant and challenging work that is essential to nurturing vibrant urban communities. In 2017, we created a Mobile Art Gallery - shipping container turned moveable artspace - that showcases mid-career artists in neighborhoods across Washington, D.C. Since 2008, we have owned and operated Source Theatre in NW D.C. It provides a small black-box theatre, classroom and rehearsal space, and below-market administrative offices for resident performing arts organizations. We were founded in 1998 primarily as NGO liaison between cultural organizations and commercial real estate developers. We have worked to ensure that artists and arts organizations can access and afford live/work/perform/present spaces in the District.
