Joanna Kohler is a filmmaking artist dedicated to working with intermediaries, organizations and institutions to capture compelling stories to move missions, data and people toward a common goal. Storytelling is the art of listening; listening to clients, participants, community and stakeholders while bringing over 15 years of experience in documentary production. Trained in participatory facilitation, years of experience within nonprofits and youth work the goal is always for a sustainable story told with the participation of those who know the stories best while producing high quality messages unique to each client. In addition to work with clients, Kohler Productions produces independent films focused on powerful stories about the human experience. Award winning feature documentaries have included topics of exploitation of youth, peace activism in Israel and Palestine, women’s amateur boxing and stories about facing fear. In addition Joanna Kohler is one of three TV producers for the Emmy nominated TV show, Butter City.
