The Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy (CGTE) was established in 2019 to meet the needs of those experiencing various types of loss. CGTE’s founder, Dr. Christina Zampitella, took note of this need some time ago, when she realized through her work that there are few clinicians and practices in the area that truly specialize in grief. Dr. Zampitella’s dream was to create an organization that could offer many services unique to grief and loss, all in the same place. Under this vision, CGTE began to grow, soon adding on new clinicians who specialized in various areas of grief and loss, or with particular populations. This brought new perspectives to CGTE and allowed for even more dreams to begin to form into reality. CGTE currently offers many services to those who are experiencing various types of loss, including the death of a loved one, divorce, career change, health concerns, loss of home or community, or loss of financial security. At our organization, we provide therapy services for to: • Adults • Couples • Families • Children & adolescents We offer groups throughout the year on various topics, such as: • Expressive Arts (painting, drawing, writing, music) • Bereaved Parents • Surviving Siblings • Survivors of Suicide & Homicide As we grow further, we hope to also be able to provide opportunities such as: • Retreats for the bereaved • Retreats and training for clinicians working with grief & loss • Online education via webinars and live presentations Our goal is to be a resource to the community. We are here and we are growing, and we would love to connect with you, whether you are an individual seeking treatment, another organization wishing to partner with us, or a clinician interested in learning more about this work.
