Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is a Central University of India located in the city of Bilaspur in the state of Chhattisgarh. It was founded under the Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009. Formerly known as Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), it was formally inaugurated on June 16, 1983, by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly.GGU is a member of both the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university, which is located in a socially and economically difficult neighborhood, is suitably named after the famous Satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas (born in the 17th century), who championed the cause of the oppressed and fought tirelessly against all types of social evils and injustice prevalent in society. Here at GGV, the Placement Cell of SOSET, primarily works as an association between industry and institute, providing internships and positions, with owing efforts of our committed members. It not only functions as a facilitator for training and placement but also we also seek to promote the overall development of students enrolled in the eight B. Tech. engineering programs (Chemical, Civil, Industrial and Production, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Computer Science, and Information Technology ).
