PUNCH Powerglide brings in more than 50 years of expertise in the design, development and production of automatic transmissions. Since 1967 PUNCH Powerglide has been a Global automatic transmission supplier, first for the General Motors Group (Cadillac, Holden, Chevrolet), and for BMW since 1967. Other customers include TATA, Shanghai GM, SAIC and Changfeng Motor. The current proven 6-speed automatic variants are available as conventional AT as well as in different degrees of hybridisation, “Stop&Start”, BSG (Mild Hybrid) or soon as full hybrid version, the 6LP2. This new product offers a compact design and allows a significant reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to meet the target market requirements in China. The R&D teams are also working on new concepts (DHTs, e-drive). Strategic partnerships with engine manufacturers in China allow customers of PUNCH Powerglide to benefit from an integrated powerpack solution with an even faster time-to-market. Our Chinese subsidiary, PUNCH Powerglide Tianjin Technology Co., Ltd., opened in 2015 and assures an efficient support for the Chinese market. In addition to complete gearboxes, PUNCH Powerglide supplies various components for the automotive sector and offers also engineering services in the areas of testing, software programming, calibration and NVH analysis.
