Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation is one of Australia’s leading foundations and is Australia’s oldest and largest community foundation. Established in 1923, the Foundation creates positive social change through its support of charitable organisations delivering innovative, effective programs, and its collaborative Initiatives addressing current community challenges. Our grants program supports five Impact Areas including Education & Employment, Environment & Sustainability, Healthy & Resilient Communities, Homelessness & Affordable Housing and Inspiring Philanthropy. Within these we have specific outcomes we aim to support. We have an Impact reporting framework and undertake the Vital Signs report every few years. These help to inform our work. At Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation we encourage engagement and participation in community philanthropy. We are an endowed foundation which holds bequests from many donors. Our donors establish charitable fund accounts, giving circles and giving accounts, and donate to specific appeals. As a community foundation, we work in partnership with our stakeholders to lead positive change. We do this through innovative and inspired philanthropy. This includes granting, community engagement, partnerships, research, sharing knowledge, influencing policy and impact investment.
