Alpha Planning & Development was established in 2018 to help homeowners, investors and businesses through the ever-increasing complexity of the UK planning system by providing specialist town planning advice and services. Throughout our first year, we have helped people from Devon to Leicestershire and from Carmarthenshire to London and we continue to operate across Wales and England. Managing Director James Banks BSc(Hons) AssocRTPI has experience in public sector planning performing planning enforcement and development management roles. These positions have included investigating enforcement contraventions, carrying out enforcement notices, assessing applications against permitted development regulations and planning policy, making officer recommendations for approval or refusal, listed building consents and other development management processes. He has also worked in the private sector, helping clients through the planning system including major residential developments, commercial schemes, change of use applications, student accommodation proposals and more across England and Wales. James also worked as the Head of Planning for a Welsh renewable energy developer where he worked on energy projects, infrastructure schemes and transport projects. James is proud that his former employer continues to use his planning expertise as an on going client.
