Through seven decades, Beijing 101 has been at the forefront of education in China, combining academic excellence with an outstanding range of opportunities for its students. Beijing 101 is recognized as a beacon high school by the municipal government of Beijing. This designation recognizes the school as a model for the region and allows for increased flexibility and scope in the curricula offered to our students. Much of what makes Beijing 101 extraordinary is its community of young scholars and the lifelong learners who guide them. At 101, we believe that is our responsibility to assure opportunities for students to apply creative, independent, and critical thought so that they can make difference in whatever they choose to do. The International Department at 101 was established in 2012 to meet the needs of a growing number of students who wished to pursue a tertiary education in the West. International Department students sit a 3-year bilingual curriculum through grades 10-12. For the past 8 years, students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses from grade 11 onward.
