Arise Society

The Arise Society Program is a fully-integrated transitional model where students progress towards independence through academic success. The program is located near Utah Valley University (UVU). UVU has an open enrollment policy that provides students the opportunity to obtain an associate’s degree. This degree can be transferred to any college and used as a basis for further academic progression in a more desirable academic setting. Students can also pursue a four-year degree. This provides families with a vision about healthy progression towards independence. The Arise Society Program utilizes collaborative relationships with mentors to integrate its students with other young adults in a college-dorm setting. In other words, we create a supportive culture that is built in and around other students that are not in our program. Our members live and interact with other students that are not part of our program. Arise Society works with individuals with dual-diagnosis. While it is not a program that provides support for addiction and substance abuse problems, we recognize that many students manage underlying emotional problems with substance abuse. Individuals with autism spectrum disorder can benefit most from our support—particularly from a social standpoint. Individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety disorders or processing problems are also appropriate for our program. The focus of the program is towards supporting students in their residential life, their social and personal development and their academic progression. By supporting students and interacting with them in each of these areas, we understand their motivations, passions, concerns, as well as barriers to success. The Arise Society Program is committed to providing parents/guarantors with current information regarding their student’s successes, resistances, relationships and coping mechanisms, as well as what type of specific support is effective and non-effective.
