UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, works to eliminate discrimination against women and girls, empower women and achieve equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The United States National Committee (USNC) San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) Chapter develops events and partnerships to educate and engage local communities about global women issues, as well as raise funds to provide key financial support for UN Women programs and initiatives that promote the social, political and economic equality of women and girls across the world.
