Fairtrade Africa - Eastern and Central Africa Network ( FTA-ECAN) serves as the regional hub for @Fairtrade Africa which is a member of the wider International Fairtrade movement. Fairtrade Africa represents Fairtrade certified producers in Africa and the Middle East. Based in Nairobi, Kenya FTA- ECAN represents farmers from Burundi, Cameroon, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The region further represents a total of 185 farmers drawn from Small Producer Organizations and Hired Labor set ups in all the 8 countries. Farmers/producers deal in a range of products including bananas, coffee, cocoa, cotton, flowers, fruit juice, fruits, gold, vegetables, sesame and tea. Nonetheless, tea, coffee, and flowers are the region’s core products accounting for 89.66% of all certified producer organizations. We work to secure better trade terms for #farmers & #workers and envision a world in which they can enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods, fulfill their potential and decide on their future.
