Michigan Works! is a statewide demand-driven workforce development system. Our Southwest Michigan service area includes all of Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties. The purpose of a demand-driven workforce development system is to contribute to the state’s economic vitality through the provision of training and services that meet the needs of targeted industry clusters and businesses. While the scope and type of services are limited by the funding that supports them, the overriding imperative remains to foster talent development and connections between business and the workforce to meet local demand.
