The South Dakota Air & Space Museum is rated as one of the top-7 attractions in the state! It features over 30 authentic aircraft from WWII, the Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War and current military equipment. There are two components to the museum - the outdoor "Air Park" that contains most of the aircraft and missiles. The "Indoor Galleries" are two wings that feature South Dakota's contribution to strategic missile defense, artifacts from many South Dakota aviators and a fully-stocked Gift Shop. Admission is FREE and as the museum is located just outside of the gates to Ellsworth Air Force Base, it's easy to visit. Current hours are available at the SDASM website.
