Decorah Parks and Recreation takes great pride in enriching the lives of the community through quality parks and programs for people of all ages, abilities and income levels. In 2017, Decorah Parks & Recreation offered over 50 different leagues, activities, and events serving over 3,500 participants. The Decorah Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 664 acres of land which encompasses 23 parks and recreational areas, a municipal pool and campground, 20 miles of off-road trails, and segments of the 11-mile paved Trout Run Trail. The Decorah Parks & Recreation Department operates with six full time staff, over 100 part-time employees, countless volunteers, significant financial investment from local businesses, and continued support from the community. Decorah Parks and Recreation has 6 full time staff members, over 125 part time workers, and over 175 volunteers that strive to enrich lives in the community while preserving, developing, and maintaining a high quality parks and recreation system.
