It starts with making self-care a priority; you cannot take care of others until you have already taken care of yourself. When you’re on an airplane and the oxygen mask drops, what has the flight attendant instructed you to do? Place that mask on yourself before assisting others. The reason being: once you have taken care of yourself, now you are prepared to take care of others. It is as simple as taking care of yourself first-making yourself top priority. When you feel strong-both mentally and physically- you are simply a better person: a better spouse, parent, friend and employee. You will find yourself more patient, understanding, insightful and focused. Everyone has the ability within themselves to be great.
