JAPAN MARINE UNITED CORPORATION is a shipbuilding company based out of Yokohama, Minatomirai, Kanagawa, Japan. JMU was created by the merger of two leading-edge companies in the shipbuilding industry of Japan, Universal Shipbuilding and IHIMU. In January 2021, as part of the alliance with Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., having the largest shipbuilidng capacity in Japan, JMU and Imabari Shipbuilding jointly established "Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd.(NSY) ". JMU will keep on leading the shipbuilding industry in Japan, aiming for further growth and development.
