Your Park Bristol and Bath uses parks as the conduit for social change; we bring support to people’s doorsteps in Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) to improve their health, wellbeing and community cohesion. Why? Parks are vital in ensuring good health and wellbeing and are situated at the heart of our communities. Even so, less than 1% of people living in social housing use green spaces. We engage with the elderly, carers, children and young people, people from ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and those living in the top 10% most deprived areas of Bristol and BANES. Our services include a Park Activator Programme which redevelops parks through open community gardening sessions, improving accessibility for disabled people and carers, training and supporting volunteers, campaigning and green social prescribing. We also provide corporate Team Days which enable companies to escape the office, boost team dynamics and help the environment.
