Dr Luke Beattie: Having studied and trained as an actor and director in the UK and Canada, I gained internationally regarded expertise in Shakespeare and Early Modern drama with a full-scholarship PhD. I've taught masterclasses and directed at many universities, and several leading London drama schools, including LAMDA, Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company, and Identity School of Acting, and served as a department head at Italia Conti for a number of years. As an actor, I have worked professionally on stage and screen, both nationally and internationally, including in London's West End. I've worked prolifically as a voiceover artist, and am an award-winning director who has staged the modern world-premiere productions of many neglected Early Modern British plays. I have also been professionally produced as a playwright. I have sat on drama school audition panels, and have coached hundreds of students on their audition speeches. I have published scholarly articles, presented conference papers at institutions including Shakespeare’s Globe and Guildhall, and have been cited in various books and articles as a respected authority in Early Modern dramatic verse.
