Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership (SARP)
www.southeastaquatics.netThe Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership, or SARP, is a nationally-recognized leader that is successfully addressing problems affecting fish and the places where they live in 14 states in the Southeast. For more than a decade, SARP has worked together with state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and private interests to develop science-based resources to assess the health of rivers and coastal habitats and to put cost-effective conservation projects in place where they are needed most, from cold mountain streams and warm water rivers, to the sea. SARP’s unique regional perspective, cutting edge science and connections to decision-makers is strengthening the management of aquatic resources and ensuring the conservation of precious waters, fish and wildlife for future generations. SARP’s approach: Together with our partners, we are supporting and facilitating on-the-ground and in-the-water science-based action to improve and protect aquatic habitats and resources. We are conducting focused habitat assessments and restoring, monitoring and evaluating of some of the nation’s most economically and socially significant aquatic habitats. SARP's mission: SARP will, with partners, protect, conserve and restore aquatic resources including habitats throughout the Southeast for the continuing benefit, use and enjoyment of the American people.
