Strenci Psychoneurological hospital State ltd. is a specialized treatment facility located in Vidzeme region of Latvia. Highly qualified and experienced personnel is our hospital`s most valuable asset ensuring high level treatment, care and rehabilitation for patients. Hospital was established in 1907 and is operating for more than a century. Strenci Psychoneurological hospital is operating under direct subordination of Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia. There are five inpatient psychiatry units, narcology and psychotuberculoses unit, internal pharmacy and psychosocial rehabilitation center “RASA”. There are 300 open inpatient beds. Hospital provide outpatient healthcare services: judicial psychiatric and complex forensic psychological examinations as well as narcology and psychiatric consultations for adults and psychiatric consultations for children. Since 2019 outpatient services have expanded adding occupational therapist and physiotherapist consultations as well as clinical psychologist consultations. The hospital provides medical coercive after a court decision – forced hospital treatment execution. For many years hospital has been important training facility for young medical professionals, including students of higher and secondary education institutions, social work and rehabilitation. Strenci Psychoneurological hospital is only institution in Latvia that provides healthcare services to patients with psychiatric disorder suffering from tuberculosis and since 2013 provide palliative care for drug- resistant tuberculosis patients. Since 2019 hospital provides rehabilitation in multidisciplinary team. It consist from 3 physiotherapists, 2 occupational therapists, music therapist, drama therapist, dance and movement therapist, visual plastic art therapist. In addition hospital provides psychologist and chaplain. Strenci Psychoneurological hospital has 7 year experience in managing quality management system.
