SGL - Stochastic Geomechanics Laboratory
zenon-sgl.tamu.eduThe SGL's mission is to investigate the heterogeneous, spatio-temporal, multiscale and multiphysics nature of geomaterials, through their experimental and numerical representations (discrete and continuous), by the efficient integration of causal probabilistic evidence, including observations, model predictions and expert´s beliefs. Our research team vision is to improve the understanding of the mechanical behavior of geomaterials and their interaction with civil infraestructure, by the proper integration of risk as the mean to ensure sustainable development based on the characterization, construction, monitoring and retrofitting, of safer, more economical and environmentally friendly geostructures.
