Vortechs has developed advanced recycling technology and waste to energy technology that enables mixed plastics and hard-to-recycle plastics to be recycled. We focus on converting mixed plastics and other hydrocarbon waste into recyclable feedstock, or low-carbon forms of energy as the customer requires. We use local, village-scale thermal cracking technology to be able to recycle where the waste is located, instead of transporting waste long distances to large recycling facilities or the landfill. We keep plastics and other hydrocarbon waste out of the landfills and out of our oceans, while generating recyclable feedstock for recycled products, or energy for energy-poor regions. In developing nations, we address the "Four P" problems: poverty, pollution, power and (community) participation by paying the poorest a working wage to gather and deliver hydrocarbon waste and prevent its entry into landfills and oceans, and generating power for the local grid for business and entrepreneurs to be able to increase local employment and the local standard of living. · Only about 16% of plastics are recycled in the world today. The Vortechs advanced recycling technology increases the potential to recycle up to about 80-90% of the world's plastic waste, plus other hydrocarbon waste such as used tires and motor oil. · 90-100% reduction in the waste going to landfills or the ocean. · Up to 50% reduction of CO2-equivalent (CO2e) emissions compared with the production of the same amount of virgin plastic from fossil feeds. · Our process also reduces CO2e emissions by up to 70% compared with current processes used in handling waste plastic, such as incineration.
