BELLAVISTA School in Johannesburg, has an established reputation for excellence in the area of remedial education. Our strength lies in our professional knowledge, experience and collective expertise. We believe, that with this comes a responsibility to share this with the community of educational and healthcare professionals who work with children. And so Bellavista S.H.A.R.E was established, as a resource centre to give structure, direction and commitment to release these resources to the broader educational landscape. S.H.A.R.E being an acronym for: “Share what we know; Help where we can; Advise and assist; Resource and equip; Educate others”. Through Bellavista S.H.A.R.E, the school harnesses the collective capacity it holds within its own staff to improve the quality of educational delivery, particularly in the area of literacy, by developing therapists and educators. A critical strategy for Bellavista School, has been to develop public-private partnerships and, as such, we have collaborated with key, senior decision makers at a provincial and national level, as well as tertiary institutions, to ensure an effective intervention.
